The physical dimensions of the target site are 15m long and 38m deep, facing the road. The ratio of the short side to the long side is 1: 2.53, which is a narrow and long piece of land. The urban children’s school is a building for caring for young students and should be a building where creative imagination works. The school is the first public where children experience society, dream of the future, and learn how to live. The architect proposes a three-dimensional platform school that embraces children’s emotions with a motif of design attributes that combine familiarity and liveliness. We hope that children will interact with the building. Also, we hoped that the bright innocence of childhood and the students’ imaginations would be projected into the architecture of the building and be delineated by various nicknames for the building. The “1/4 circle” geometry is used as a design motif in the city. This creates a completely different mass and facade through the circle segment, a playful transformation, and composition. Depending on how people feel about the building, we tried to make architecture a creative space where it can be called a sprout of nature or a dreamy castle. In other words, we tried to create a space where bright energy is projected and numerous feelings interact.
대지의 물리적 조건을 보면 도로와 면한부분이 15m, 깊이가 38m로 단변대 장변의 비율이 1: 2.53으로 좁고 긴 대지위에 계획되어진다. 도심속 어린이학교는 어린 학생들을 위한 배려의 건축이며 창의적인 상상력이 작동하는 건축을 제안한다. 꿈을 키워가고 세상을 배워가는 곳으로 이곳은 사회를 경험하는 첫 공공적 만남의 장소이다. 건축은 친근함과 생동감이 결합된 디자인속성을 모티브로 어린이 감성을 담는 입체적 플랫폼 학교를 제안한다. 학교를 다니는 어린이들과 인트렉티브한 감성의 교감체로 반응하는 건축이길 제안하였다. 어린이들의 밝은 동심과 상상력이 건축에 투영되어 다양한 별명으로 은유되길 바랬다. 도심속에 '1/4 circle' 기하학을 디자인 모티브로 삼는다. 이는 circle의 분절, 유희적 변형과 구성을 통해 전혀 다른 매스와 입면을 만들어 낸다. 보는 사람들의 감성에 의해 자연의 새싹처럼 불리기도, 꿈의 성처럼 읽히기도, 밝은 에너지가 투영되고 인트렉티브한 감성이 소통하는 창의적인 장소성의 건축을 만들려 했다.
