The space of a landscape painting tries to reproduce the code of publicness that ordinary commercial spaces do not have. The ground level becomes an empty public space like a city plaza, a resting place for city residents, and an event area. The interior and exterior ramp spaces are continuous along the landscape painting skin. It is the core of the pedestrian space that flows up and down the commercial space, and it contains various public programs that take place on the road such as exhibitions and breaks. As you climb along the ramp, you will find a public garden open to citizens. It becomes an observation plaza open to citizens to view Gyeongbokgung Palace from a different perspective. It locates a public space in the middle of a building which cannot be done in expensive commercial spaces. Creating a public space where it can only be filled with private space can be a meaningful prposal.
동양풍 산수화는 상상 속의 풍경을 그리는 것이다. 풍경화의 공간은 일반적인 상업공간이 가지고 있지 않은 공공성의 코드를 재현하고자 했다. 지상은 도시광장처럼, 도시민들의 휴식공간이자 이벤트 지역처럼 텅 빈 공공공간이 된다. 풍경화 스킨을 따라 내외부 경사로 공간이 연속되어 있다. 상업공간을 오르내리는 보행공간의 핵심이며, 전시, 휴식 등 도로 위에서 일어나는 다양한 공공 프로그램을 담고 있다. 경사로를 따라 올라가다 보면 시민들에게 개방된 공공정원이 나온다. 경복궁을 다른 시각에서 바라볼 수 있도록 시민들에게 개방된 전망광장이 된다. 고가의 상업공간에서는 할 수 없는 공공공간을 건물 한가운데에 위치한다. 사적 공간으로만 채워질 수 있는 공공공간을 만드는 것은 의미 있는 제안이 될 수 있다.
